Lyric Theater @ Illinois, in conjunction with the School of Music, offers a diverse group of degree programs that are built to prepare young musicians for a wide range of careers. Annual performing opportunities for students include three fully staged productions; opera and musical theatre scenes prepared and performed by the studio class; large choral works with orchestra; and degree and non-degree recitals. World-class performance venues on campus in the Krannert Center and Smith Memorial Hall enhance the student’s overall experience. Every attempt is made to award merit-based scholarships to the most talented students. Our program has produced singers who have attained international acclaim and others who are presently enjoying significant performing careers around the world.
