In 2014-2015, Lyric Theatre @ Illinois presented it's inaugural season to sold out crowds in the Tryon Festival Theatre at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.
Dedicated to providing a wide range of experiences for our students and audiences, LTI presents three mainstage productions each season, including a classic opera, operetta and musical theatre. For Lyric Theatre's first season they chose one of each, catering to large-scale productions that provided ample collaboration opportunities and lots of community appeal.
Additionally, LTI works to bring in industry professionals to give our students a chance to work with people in the business. In just our first year, our students worked with conductor and vocal coach Eric Weimar (Lyric Opera of Chicago), conductor Raphael Schluesselberg (Theater an der Wien), NYC based director Jessi D. Hill (terraNOVA Collective) and professional dancer and choreographer Catherine Hamilton.
