Written just before the French Revolution, The Marriage of Figaro explores class relationships, the roles of wealth, power, and common sense—and the miracle of forgiveness. The bumpy road to Figaro and Susanna’s wedding shines with “wit, humanity and astounding, glorious music” (The Guardian).
